Lyrics for Recuerdos
When I look up, it doesn't even show that you are.
That special way of knowing, the wind doesn't even blow, because of you.
Smiling face, yours is the only one, I never could do without it.
No more, no more.
That is the way I seem to feel.
Your hand in mine, we pass the time.
Bye bye..........................

Complete lyrics of song 1st Awakening
Searched for your love from season to season.
In full belief that I knew the reason.
Most girls I've met said hardly a word, insincerity is the voice I heard.
Some have asked my to go to bed, and just showed they had an empty head,
But then I caught a glimpse of you, the course was clear to make it come true.
But will our love pass the test of time ?
With you could hardly feel the wine.
Your words more than just a line.
Sure feels good now your mine.
Understanding you is easy now that I'm free of the fears that now inspire.
The essence of you is an ecstacy fullfilling my dreams and desires.
I can't believe the changes you've made, look at the things you've done.
Putting it all together for me, two sides meeting as one.
Marriage is more than a legal bond, a journey for two friends to set upon.
In my arms you're so full of love, always the girl I've been dreaming of.
In the event we grow apart, it won't be the end just another start.
Waiting for you as long as I can, even though I'm a healty man.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess everyone had a 1st love once............

A stunning classical player
In my opinion she could be the next "Segovia". Her playing and tone are out of this world. Check out her Torroba CD if you ever get the chance.

A great teacher and player
http://www.danielguitar.com/
Classical guitar teacher with a good feel and impeccable technique. I tried to get into his classes when he was at Foothill college in northern california. He had left though the semester before.
Alas, he does give private lessons and maybe one day ............................

Coming very soon online lessons ( here )
My website which is still under construction will be featuring online lessons and technique. They will be emphasizing my philosophy on right/left hand and finger technique. Proper sitting and holding of guitar will be reviewed. Comfort and relaxation will be covered. Casual playing in public, preparations to ease stage fright. Proper tone and dynamics to achieve efficiency and clarity. Finding your natural talents and making the most of them. Working harder to fix weak spots in your playing. Fun exercises to improve speed. Each week I will post a new lesson. This will be all free. Yay !
Another great guitarist

Sound engineer
I started out mixing for bands in the mid 70s & 80s. Did some recording as well using various semi-pro analog gear during those years.
Bands I have worked with:
USA starring Sam Mann on drums, Joe White on lead vocals and bass, and Alan Teman on guitar. Alan was my 1st real guitar teacher although I took lessons from Mr. Gelb at Gelb music on hawaiian slide guitar when I was ten or so.
Also I mixed for RoadRunner, Redvette, M80, Mary Wells, Axis, Head On, Ash Samara, and many now forgotten bands.
My nicknames were "SoundGod" and "Ear-thy". Helping me on the mixing console were Doug Sowers and Dennis O'melviney.
All these skills I am using on my current home studio. It's a Cakewalk based system with some outboard analog gear.
More on USA in a later blog.

I have been taking classes from Charles for three years now. He teaches at College of san mateo as well as stanford university. A wonderful teacher and a great guy. Go see him if you get a chance. He plays flamenco guitar and classical as well.

Carlos Montoya essay
http://www.deflamenco.com/articulos/carlosmontoya/indexi.jsp
Informative even if you dismiss his style. I was brought into flamenco listening to him and marvelling at his phrasing and speed. He also possesed feeling and touch. Many consider him to be flashy but this was not always the case. When he was with RCA records his true style came through. After RCA he was with Everest, Stinton and many other companies and I am sure they pushed him into flashier and more non-flamenco styles. Many records credit him as the guitar player but he only plays one or two songs and another guy plays the lead parts in the rest. This could be one reason why there are so many differing opinions on his playing.

Dream guitars

http://www.devoeguitars.com/
I have emailed Lester and he is very helpful and kind. I had problems with my Ramirez 1a and my Morales blanca. He suggested a few things to help. I would like to visit his shop this year to play a few guitars.
His fine guitars are played by Paco de lucia, Ottmar Liebert and Juan Martin to name a few.

Amazon is great !
I get almost all my CDs from Amazon now. Very good resource for those looking for flamenco music. Half.com is not bad but doesn't always have the best selection. Still, great buys can be had on hard to find items.

Diego del gastor
Truly great flamenco guitar player !!
Diego has been a huge inspiration on my playing for years now.
Diego was likely the best guitarist to accompany the cante.
Check out a site devoted to him.

Ottmar Liebert has a great website and Blog

Ramirez sisters
My main guitars now are from Jose Ramirez III in Madrid Spain. My flamenco is a "blanca 1A" with pegs made with spanish cypress and a western red cedar top. It was made in 1970 stamped JMG inside. Her name is Gabriella.
My classical guitar is an R2 conservatory model also by Ramirez. It has an indian rosewood back with a western red cedar top. The body is slightly smaller than a normal concert classical. It has been fitted with tapping plated called golpeadores. They are used to protect the top from damage and also give a distinct snap when tapped with the fingernails. Her name is Ruby, pronounced Ru-beeee.
Both of these guitars were purchased from Fine Fretted Strings in campbell ca. Randy runs the shop there and is a wealth of info on spanish guitars.
I will post pics later .

Guitar Lessons
I teach guitar at all levels. Styles taught are flamenco, blues, Latin, rock and new age. Electric or acoustic guitars are welcome. I teach students ages 10 years old to adult.
